BOEING 80-A NC233M

This airplane is a large, tri-motor biplane. It arrived at Peterson Field once, on Wednesday, August 12, 1931. It was flown by R.S. Allen and an unidentified copilot, who carried two passengers. They arrived at Colorado Springs from Salt Lake City, UT. The owner of the airplane was identified as the Standard Oil Company. Below, from the March, 1931 issue of Popular Aviation (PA) magazine, the announcement of Standard Oil's purchase of the airplane.
