What were some of our airplanes that landed at Colorado Springs? The dropdown menus below can be used to list them by type or by registration number.
The aircraft were as varied as their pilots; their itineraries and histories are equally as interesting and uplifting; sometimes equally as tragic.
Some were owned by early aviation entrepreneurs, such as Al Mooney. Some were brand new and making their maiden flights, such as many from the nearby Alexander Eaglerock factory, and such as the giant F-32 Fokker NC334N.
Some were used for air tours and races, and other endurance events. In fact, on Register pages 7-8 you can see landings by many of the aircraft competing in the 1930 National Air Tour. Most of the aircraft were identified by their registration numbers as well as their make and model.
